Gilmore Client Services

… is open weekday mornings.  Depending on the department, volunteers arrive between 8:00-9:00 am and are typically finished by 11:00am or noon.  Volunteers should be comfortable working with diverse populations and typically work at least twice a month.  Access our Gilmore Volunteer handbook.

Positions include:

Screener:  Screeners interview clients to determine their eligibility for assistance. They also facilitate arrangements for food/clothing services and respond to phone calls.  Must be comfortable using computers.

Resale Volunteers

The location on West Pennsylvania Avenue in Southern Pines houses The Coalition Resale Shops and Donation Center. The shops are open from 10:00 am until 4:00 pm Tuesday through Friday and Saturday from 9:00 am until 12:00 pm. Morning and afternoon shifts are available and volunteers typically work at least twice a month.  Access our Resale Volunteer handbook.

Positions include:

Sorter: These volunteers sort and examine incoming donations as well as determining their final destination based on priority.

Thrift store clerk: Store clerks assist customers with purchases and operate the cash register in one of our four thrift stores.

Stock clerk: Stock clerks organize and restock merchandise according to priority in one of our four thrift stores.

Donation assistant: Assistants greet donors and assist them with unloading of donations.
